I'm looking for a place, they call it Heartland USA,
I've heard it's really great, I want to go there someday.
Many people talk about the beauty they find there
‘Cause when they really concentrate they see it everywhere

So how the heck do I find this Heartland USA
I've checked the books and magazines and every other way
I can't find a route that will take me there
Hey, Heartland USA, are you really anywhere?

All my friends they tell me that I should go,
And that when I get there, that's when I will know.
Now I ask, give me a clue, what will I see?
This is how they answer, what they tell me...

You'll find that in your heart you know that things will be much better.
In your heart, we will always work together.
In this land, no one ever will be hungry.
In this heart land, we will truly be free.

The poets and the artists talk of peace and calm,
Musician that I know say it's an endless sing along,
I would like a chance to visit once if that's OK,
So come on Heartland USA, show me the way?

Wouldn't it be nice if we all could agree
To go there once a day together so we could see
The harmonies of life and selfless generosity
All the wisdom that we need for posterity

So how the heck do I find this Heartland USA
